DESCRIPTION/EXPERTISE
Between the Northeastern Part of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands are the Trobirand Islands that consists of four main islands totalling about 450 square kilometers. It consists of corall atolls that nowadays boasts a population of about 12,000 people. It has an imporant tropical rainforest which is considered essential in conservating.
These dishes are important in cultural rituals and was collected around 1900. It is impressive and a decorative piece that has been well used. Fine decorations line the border of the plate.
